About
Born and raised in St. Maarten, a small island in the Caribbean, I moved to the Netherlands to pursue my higher education and to experience a world bigger than what I felt St. Maarten could offer me. Achieving my bachelors in International Tourism Management, I felt my spark for learning wasn’t quite over and after graduating I felt it wasn’t the path I wanted to follow. From Tourism I jumped into a Master’s in Media & the Creative Industries at Erasmus University, where I graduated with a Masters in Arts, a career path that I was excited to explore! Since graduating, I’ve had the opportunities to learn first hand about running a business social media account, creating content and structure for small businesses, and the daunting but very useful craft of networking.
Growing up on a small island with such a large melting pot of different nationalities and cultures, it has become an innate characteristic that I look for in my environment. I believe diversity serves an important role within every aspect, driving productive feedback loops and inspiring different perspectives. I’ve had great opportunities with interning in New York, studying in two different cities, and working with a number of small businesses and diversity has always played a significant role in all of them.
